Are you one of the millions suffer from hemorrhoids? If you are, then I sympathise with you because I know the pain and suffering that they cause. Nowadays many people seek hemorrhoid laser surgery as an alternative to traditional surgery. Hemorrhoid laser surgery has many advantages but there are still other ways to cure your hemorrhoids before resorting to surgery.

The use of a laser is definitely an improvement over traditional surgery. Unlike traditional hemorrhoid surgery, using a laser doesn’t require a surgeon to make an incision in the skin, thus there will be no stitches needed. The surgeon actually uses the laser to vaporise the haemorrhoid instead, until it is completely gone.

Because of the accuracy of hemorrhoid laser surgery only the actual hemorrhoid itself is exposed to the laser during the surgical procedure. Although it’s not as painful as regular surgery, there will obviously be some discomfort. On the plus side, recovery time is a lot faster.

Resorting to the laser is definitely the best option if you have already tried all other natural methods.

Besides the creams which are available to reduce the itching there are many natural hemorrhoid remedies that have been proven to work and have already helped thousands and thousands of people to avoid hemorrhoid surgery.

I know, because I’m speaking from my own experience.

Depending on your type of hemorrhoids there will almost certainly be a natural cure for you. I recommend that you try every natural cure and treatment possible before resorting to the surgery.

Although hemorrhoid laser surgery is now a realistic option for many people, it is still unnecessary in most cases as I found out myself.

Because of its nature, prostate cancer is a disease suffered only by men. In fact, the American Cancer Society has found that prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men. While this statistic may seem the disease dooms a man to death, the prognosis isn’t as bleak as the facts seem to indicate.

While one man in six will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, only one of every 34 will actually die as a result of the disease. Depending on how far the cancer has spread and how early it is diagnosed the prognosis for prostate cancer is actually very good. Most people do not die of the cancer itself, but of other causes.

Prostate cancer is generally a disease that affects older men, the majority of men diagnosed with this type of cancer are over the age of 65. It is partially because of this age of onset that most who develop this type of cancer do not die from it. They generally die from other causes associated with old age.

Risk factors for developing prostate cancer are a combination of hereditary and social factors. Having one or more first generation relatives who suffers with prostate cancer seems to be the best identifying factor of any particular man developing the disease.

African American men seem to be slightly more likely than Caucasian men to be diagnosed with the disorder. Along with genetics, social features also play a role in the development of this condition. These social factors can include diet and general overall healthiness.

Like most cancers, prostate cancer has no symptoms in its earliest stages. This is why screening is so important. If you are at risk for developing this cancer because of your family history, your doctor can perform a blood test that will detect if the cancer is developing. In fact, your doctor will usually conduct both a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test as well as a digital rectal exam. If both these tests indicate you may suffer with cancer, he may suggest a biopsy to be sure.

If your cancer is not caught in the early stages when it is most treatable, you may start to experience some symptoms. These symptoms include pain or stiffness in the lower back, blood in the semen or urine, difficulty having an erection, painful ejaculation, difficulty urinating or feeling the need to urinate frequently.

Once prostate cancer is detected, there are several ways it can be treated. These include the traditional methods of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery to remove the cancerous gland. Because this gland is part of both a man’s urinary tract and sexual organs, there are many side effects of these treatments the man may find unpleasant. These include the inability to achieve erection as well as urinary leakage.

Even though prostate cancer is common, survival rates are good, especially is the condition is caught in the early stages. It is important to discuss your risk factors with your doctor to see if you need to be screened for the disease.

One weekend I was doing chair massage at an event in the Georgia World Congress Center, and a woman and her 10 year old daughter came over. As they sat down to wait for their massages, they were arguing over who deserved the massage more.

The daughter insisted she was more “stressed out” than her mother. And the mother replied that the daughter “didn’t even know what stress was.” Finally they asked me to determine who won the “I’m more stressed” contest for the day based on who had the tightest muscles. And surprisingly…

it was the 10 year old daughter.

A lot of people just like the mother might assume, “what does a 10 year-old child know about stress?” This situation helps point out one of the biggest misconceptions about stress, which is:

Stress Misconception: The more responsibilities I have, the more stressed I am

Stress is not actually determined by external factors. It does not matter how many items are on your to-do lists or how many irritating people you encounter during the day.

Stress is really determined by your perception of what’s going on around you. When you perceive yourself to be stressed out and under a lot of pressure, then your mind, emotions, and body will follow suit into a stress response state. Not the other way around. Stress begins in your mind.

However, if you perceive yourself to be relaxed, peaceful and healthy, then your body will respond accordingly.

The good news is you can train your mind to adapt to stress. Trying to see the good in people and situations is not just the expression of a person with an optimistic personality. It’s better for your health and your muscles! Every time you’re annoyed, bothered, irritated, or frustrated, your body perceives these emotions as stress and it acts accordingly.

So what if someone cuts you off on the way to work, or your coworker says something inappropriate? Is your negative response to these or similar situations worth the pain your causing to your muscles and your body? Even more serious situations like lack of money don’t deserve our stress. When you’re stressed, all of your energy goes towards reacting to stress rather than thinking about creative solutions.

Next time something “stresses you out,” realize you are in control. You have the power to just let it go. Instead, focus your attention on something that is going to keep your shoulders down and back, your heart forward, and your muscles relaxed. Your body will thank you for it.

Although there are a number of tests that may be carried out if you suspect the possible presence of prostate cancer, the only certain way to confirm the disease is the prostate biopsy. But just how successful is the biopsy when it comes to confirming this disease?

In the US alone annually there are approximately one million prostate biopsies carried out of which around 25 percent indicate the presence of prostate cancer. But, of the remaining 75 percent of prostate biopsies about one-third produce false negative results. This means that approximately 25 percent of those men undergoing prostate biopsies are cleared by this test, in spite of the fact that they are suffering from prostate cancer.

At first sight therefore it might appear that the prostate biopsy is not a very satisfactory test but these results do not in fact mean that there is anything wrong with the prostate biopsy procedure as a method of confirming the presence of prostate cancer. What it does clearly mean however is the need to identify those patients who, in spite of returning a negative result, are nonetheless at high risk from prostate cancer and ought therefore to have a second follow-up biopsy.

The difficulty is that until now there has not been an easy method of identifying those patients at risk. Luckily, a recent study of more than five hundred men being investigated for prostate cancer may now provide a solution.

All of the men investigated in the study had previously received a negative prostate biopsy result but researchers found that when they looked at the patient’s prostate specific antigen (PSA) test results and these were adjusted for the size of the prostate gland they were able to identify those patients who were more likely to produce a positive result on a second biopsy.

The researchers also discovered that patients with a Gleeson score of 7 or higher were at greater risk from life-threatening prostate cancer and were once again more likely to produce a positive result from a second biopsy. The Gleeson score runs on a scale between 2 and 10 and a patient’s score is derived from a microscopic investigation of prostate biopsy tissue. Low scores point to cancer with a small risk of spread while high scores point to cancer that is more likely to spread.

There are a number of prostate biopsy procedures used today but perhaps the most common procedure is the core needle biopsy. Here a number of very small tissue samples are removed from different areas of the prostrate gland with a biopsy gun that fires a needle into the selected section and removes the sample in a fraction of a second. These samples are then sent off for laboratory analysis to find out whether cancer is present and, if so, to establish just how much of the prostate gland is affected.

A prostate biopsy is a costly procedure and is a test that can be quite upsetting for the patient. It can also be a fairly painful procedure that may involve bleeding and a risk of infection. For these reasons it is important to pinpoint those men for whom a follow-up biopsy would be sensible and to reduce as far as we can the number of needless follow-up biopsies being done every year.

Yeast infections are considered to be contagious when you have sexual contact with your partner especially when your partner is suffering from vaginal or penis yeast infections. It is always better not to have any sexual intercourse when you are suffering from any yeast problems or if not at least have a well protected sex by having condoms during this period of time. If your infection is transmitted to your partner, it is very likelihood that the infection will pass to and fro if sexual activities continue.

Some people are scared to share a common toilet with their friends or family members when they found out suffering from yeast infections. The fact is, it is not contagious through using the same toilet or sitting on the same toilet seat cover. At the same time, yeast infection is not an airborne disease that can transmit through air, hence you will not get yeast infection by talking to yeast sufferers.

Symptoms of yeast infections can be quite obvious. For the female, they will feel burning sensation or pain during urinating, unpleasant smell, whitish discharge, itchiness, redness and swelling on their vulva. For the male, they will experience itchiness, irritation on penile forehead, cracking on the skin of the penis, pain and red or white bumps.

Yeast infection is not a disease that is deadly and it is quite common. If it is detected early, it can be easily cured as the condition may still be quite mild. To prevent the yeast problems from becoming a chronic case, treat it immediately. Chronic cases can be quite troublesome and it is not so easily treated by any yeast creams or oral medications. I have heard some cases that people who totally ignored this problem can suffer for months or years.

Overlooking your yeast infections may cause more worries. Instead of avoiding, face it and get rid of your enemy. If you are too embarrassed to see a doctor, try Home Remedies For Yeast Infection.

When you sleep, your brain doesn’t simply shut down and turn back on again when you wake up in the morning. During the night, it is constantly going through cycles that involve five separate stages.

Stages one is considered light sleep and involves brain waves called alpha waves. These are different than brain waves when you are awake, but not my much. Their speed is eight to twelve cycles per second.

After stage one, you will enter into stage two sleep, which develops your brain waves into slower delta waves. Once you are in stage four, or deep sleep, your brain waves will consist almost entirely of delta waves. During stage four, your body is in an extreme state of relaxation. This time allows the body to restore itself, and is crucial to staying healthy.

Alpha wave interrupted sleep, technically called an alpha EEG anomaly, doesn’t allow for this restorative process to occur. In people who have this, their delta waves are frequently interrupted by the faster alpha waves. Sometimes, this will cause the person to wake up several times during the night. Other times it will simply leave the person extremely fatigued the next day, and sometimes even in pain.

For example, people with fibromyalgia usually have the alpha EEG anomaly.
Fibromyalgia is generally diagnosed as a chronic pain condition, in which the patient experiences pain in at least eleven points on their body for at least three months straight.

Because so many sufferers of fibromyalgia have the alpha EEG anomaly, it is believed that the sleep disorder could even be a cause of the pain. In any case, it certainly makes it worse. Patients with chronic pain rely on sleep to restore their muscles. When this doesn’t occur, it is only logical that the pain would get worse.

Fibromyalgia patients have said that when they get a good night’s sleep, they feel much better the next day and have the energy to get up and do things. When they don’t, however, it feels like their muscles haven’t gotten a chance to relax at all, and they are still tight and cramped from the previous day. This is why the most commonly used muscles are usually the ones in which pain develops.

The alpha EEG anomaly can often be overcome with natural sleep aids. These sleep aids regulate your sleep, preventing the bursts of alpha waves from occurring.

Are you having sleep problems? Do you toss and turn at all hours of the night? If so, you are probably suffering from insomnia. And you are not alone! It’s estimated that about 20 million Americans suffer from some sort of sleep problem, or five to ten percent of the total U.S. population.

The consequences of insomnia include sleepiness and impaired physical functions. If you have chronic insomnia, you may find yourself to be overly alert all the time, and you have trouble relaxing or remaining calm. In addition, you may feel physical and emotional exhaustion.

There are lots of theories on how to deal with these types of sleep problems. Some include some rather unusual home remedies for insomnia. My personal favorite is a concoction of honey, tea, and milk, although it has never been proven that this actually works. Others have opted for hypnotherapy. Patients learn self-hypnosis that they can use at home when they are trying to sleep. This works on clients whose mind is easily open to suggestion, but it’s not quite as effective for those who are more analytical in their thinking.

A common “quick fix” for sleep problems for many people is to take sleeping aids, but these should only be used in very rare instances. Sleeping pills are highly addictive, and offer no real solution for your insomnia. And last year, the Food and Drug Administration found the most popular sleeping aids can cause strange behavior during sleep, such as driving and eating.

One of the more disturbing side effects of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) is their possible sleep disturbances. It is true that more studies need to be done to determine the actual reason for sleep disturbances caused by SSRIs, but the correlation is very strong. However, if you are taking an SSRI, this does not mean you will no longer be able to get a good night’s sleep.

Positive Effects of SSRIs on Your Sleep

Though many people have reported sleep side effects from taking an SSRI, SSRIs do help many with sleep issues. Depression may cause insomnia in many sufferers, and if you are one of these people, an SSRI may actually improve your nightly sleep. By treating the depression, you may actually have a better chance at a good night’s sleep with an SSRI than without one.

Negative Effects of SSRIs on Your Sleep

According to studies and patient reports, insomnia affects 15 to 20 percent of those who take an SSRI, though less serious sleep problems occur in a larger percentage of users. Here is the quick list of the side effects with some discussion to follow.

Higher occurrences of sleep disturbances Insomnia Poor overall sleep quality/intense nightmares Reduces REM sleep Taking longer to fall asleep

The most striking effect that SSRIs have on sleep is the interference with REM sleep. REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep is considered the most important aspect of a person’s nightly sleep. It consists generally of only about 90 to 120 minutes of the entire night’s sleep, but it makes a significant contribution to your nightly recovery. REM sleep is where your memories are cemented into your mind. It is also when your most vivid dreams normally occur.

Many patients, as well as those taking part in sleep studies, have reported higher occurrences of sleep disturbances throughout the night. Most people with normal sleep habits will have periods of sleeplessness or wake up at some point throughout the night, and SSRIs can possibly increase this number in some patients.

It also may take longer for you to fall asleep if you are taking an SSRI. Many patients and those involved with sleep studies reported taking longer than one hour to fall asleep. A final side effect is an increase in extremely vivid nightmares reported by some SSRI users. All of these side effects can manifest themselves singularly in an individual, or they can all be present in one who is taking an SSRI.

How to Deal with Sleep Problems while Taking an SSRI

The side effects of sleep problems for those taking an SSRI do not manifest themselves in every patient. However, if they are a problem for you, there are options available to help alleviate these side effects.

Reduce Dosage Switch to a different form of anti-depressant Switch to a different SSRI Take a sedative

Fewer still constantly follow their clinical follow-ups regularly because of the high costs of dentistry.

The cost of the dental procedures depends on the country you are living in. porcelain veneers usually ranges from $975 per veneer to a high of $2200 per veneer, which is very expensive. A wise customer must understand the basic fee structures of cosmetic dentistry which of course you are because you are reading this.

People wonder, hopefully, of when these prices are going to calm down. The reality, Infact, is that dentistry has always been expensive. Porcelain has always been costly, be it the cost of all-porcelain crowns or for porcelain veneers, its costly and the same.

The cost of the filling used for black teeth depends on the number of surfaces the filling is used. Costs range from $150 up to $250 for one surface filling, $200 up to $400 for two surface fillings and $250 up to $500 for three surface fillings.

Bonding a front tooth demands highly skilled dentistry. Expertise and preciseness are the key players in these kinds of procedures. This involves a high level of artistry combined with expertise and preciseness. Braces can cost from $5000 to $7000.

Your cosmetic dentistry bill can involve the expensive materials used, state of the art dental labs and the monetary equivalent of the extra time and effort the dentist spends on you. Not to mention the cleanliness and the sterile environments which are essential for these kinds of procedures will also add a bomb to your cosmetic dentistry bill. No, these services don’t show any signs of getting their prices down, Infact; they might as well go up and might become even more expensive if there is a scarcity of dentists in future.

You, the consumer, are in the most difficult spot with no covering of your dental insurances on your cosmetic dentistry adding to that the procedures include a lot of expertise which in other words means there’s a lot that can go wrong.

Hemorrhoids can be treated at every stage. Many people who suffer from them find relief by means of home treatment. In case they have not succeeded to alleviate the symptoms, they usually undergo nonsurgical treatments, the so called fixative procedures. These techniques are most successful in hemorrhoid units from the first and second stage. If the hemorrhoids have got severe – third and fourth stages, surgical treatment is recommended.

What are the fixative procedures?

Fixative procedures are alternative for surgery of the hemorrhoids. They include:

o Light coagulation: This procedure stops the blood circulation to the hemorrhoid unit by causing the affected tissue to shrink and die.

o Rubber band ligation: This method uses a rubber band to tie the base of the hemorrhoid unit and cut it off from the blood circulation and as a result it dies and falls of in about a week.

o Cryotherapy: A device called Zeroid has recently been available as an alternative treatment of hemorrhoids. This uses cryotherapy as a home treatment procedure. The device is a plastic cylinder 15 mm in diameter and 6 sm long and contains a gel which could be frozen in the freezer or in the refrigerator. The device is introduced into the rectum. As it taws in the rectal canal, the temperature of the inside tissues gets lower. The action of thawing takes up from 5 to 10 minutes. The devise is inserted twice daily and the treatment continues for about 3 weeks. This method relieves the symptoms – eliminates discomfort and pain and stops bleeding episodes. In some cases a considerable shrinkage of the hemorroidal lumps can be observed.

o Laser coagulation: Lasers used in medicine provide an alternative to the conservative treatment of hemorrhoids. Laser coagulation is a relatively easy and painless procedure which cuts off blood supply to the hemorroidal unit.

What are the natural cures for alternative treatment of hemorrhoids?

Natural remedies are easy to be applied at home and keep the hemorrhoids of becoming worse or of recurring after fixative procedures. These include:

o Lidocaine: Applied on the affected area in the form of a jelly or a spray, it numbs the skins and alleviates the pain and irritation from hemorrhoids.

o Topical analgetics: They offer a temporary pain relief and do not fight the whole range of the hemorrhoid symptoms.

o High-fiber diet: To strengthen the veins of the anus and rectum and prevent hemorrhoids occurrence, one should include in his diet cherries, blackberries, butcher’s broom and flavonoids. Tha latter are plant pigments which are found in fruit, soy beans and tea.

o Pilewort: This is a plant (Ranunculusficaria) which could be applied as an ointment or taken as tea. It reduces the pain of external hemorrhoids successfully.

o Emu oil: Applied as an ointment on the affected area it strengthens the tissues, alleviates the pain and discomfort from external hemorrhoids.

o Sitting baths: This procedure presents an easy alleviation of pain and hemorrhoid prevention. You need to dip the affected area in a tub full of lukewarm water for about 15 minutes two or three times daily.

Related Articles:

Top Rated Hemorrhoids Treatment Products

How to remove External Hemorrhoids?

Home remedies for internal hemorrhoids
